Everything is not bad yet!

After reading the report which is prepared by UNDP for Human Development Index in the world, I have concluded myself that we are not in bad shape yet. Normally, we do compare our country with other developed countries in terms of their development and life style. Here I would like to compare Nepal (ranked 138th) with some interesting parts of the development with world’s top ranked countries.
There are some interesting facts which can make us very proud at this stage, many developed countries updating their travel advice for their citizens who are wishing to tour Nepal for the security situation in our country. However, the stories are quite different in reality.
I got to know that there is much less incidents we have than other developed countries recently have. The HDI report itself shows that the robbery rate in Nepal is just 0.5 compare to 33.5 in Norway (1st ranked country) and Australia (ranked 2nd) has more than 37. It shows that our communal harmony and security situation in the country. Another factor, we look like dirty but we are the least in polluting our beloved earth. We just create 0.1 tone/capita. Biggest nations are the worst polluter of our world. We have more protected areas than any other developed countries. Our sustainability is higher than any other top ranked countries.
Another most important factor is that we are 3rd in ranking in rapid developing countries in HDI after China. China itself standing one of the most powerful, populous and strong economy in the world but we are chasing them in terms of human development.
It is not hard to share this happiness here that Nepal is gradually catching up the world in its own slow pace but the days are not far that we can be recognized one of the most suitable country to be. By analyzing the other factors such as income, life expectancy, gender equality but we are improving gradually and slowly. As a member of Generation Y, we always talk about the negative aspects of our country (especially staying in developed countries). We criticize our leaders and country itself regarding this but we shouldn’t forget that Nepal is not far away in terms of producing more and more vibrant, intelligent and skillful manpower who are serving other countries. As I read in Karna Shakya’s book, we are not bad than other countries like USA, UK, and Australia in terms of social unrest, security and other cultural values. Our schools are filling up with our future holders at the moment and education is attracting people more and more than other sectors which are very good sign for undeveloped countries like Nepal.
